Lady E Ejiro Umukoro, who also writes as E. R. Umukoro is a trailblazing Nigerian author, investigative journalist, and broadcaster celebrated for her impactful storytelling and dedication to social justice. Her debut novel, “Distortion,” tackles mental health, gender-based violence, and human rights abuses with unflinching candor, showcasing her mastery of gripping narratives. With awards like the United States Change Marker Award (USAGM) and Fellowships with the Pulitzer Centre, RNTC, AWJP, Code4Africa, and the Wole Soyinka Centre REWON, E.R Umukoro’s work resonates globally. Empowering writers, young journalists and advocating for women’s representation in media, her fearless reporting has sparked policy changes, inspiring a new generation of storytellers and cementing her legacy as a literary and journalistic icon.
Umokoro will take home N500,000.00 while expecting that she could earn an additional N1,000,000.00 if she emerges the overall winner by November 1.
