Greetings to the Nigerian literary community and beyond.
I am excited, on behalf of the Board of Trustees of TY Buratai Literary Initiative and the judges of the maiden edition of our Young Adult Literature Prize, to announce the Zonal winners.
After critical assessment of the entries received, the following writers and manuscripts have emerged as Zonal winners:

The Last Sacrifice by Bilqisu Abubakar

Truth and Dare by Olatunbosun Taofeek

Portraiture of a Dreamer by Hajarah Mohammed Bashar

The Northern Boy by Daniel Singfuri Yohanna
For this stage of the competition, the zonal winners will receive certification, N250,000 prize money, qualify to compete for the overall winners spot, and a chance to win the grand prize of N1,000,000.00.
A short list of three writers will be announced in the first week of October, and the grand winner at an award ceremony in November 2024.
All zonal and overall winners will receive their prizes during the award ceremony in Abuja in November.
